Dealer Spotlight: Marci Cairns

Dealer Spotlight:  Marci Cairns, The Collaborateur

An Interview

RH: What type of Antiques do you specialize in?

M: I'm very eclectic.  I'm always interested in anything I'd use to decorate in my home.

RH: How long have you been in the Antique business?

M: I've been a dealer for two years, but a collector my adult life.  Even as a teenager, I subscribed to Victoria magazine and have been drawn to the old things with a story.

RH: What is the one piece you have purchased that you treasure the most (that you sold or kept)?

M:  I buy, keep for a period and sell most things.  I wear my grandmother's tiny engagement ring and use my white English Ironstone dishes daily.

RH: If you could have any antique piece, from anywhere in the world, despite cost, what would it be?

M: Since my "claim to fame" is collaborative that's a really hard answer.  Below is a piece that marries my love of English furniture and nautical oil paintings.

It's the kind of piece I'd hang onto for life opposed to the pieces that come and go frequently.  I'm simple, but anything English makes my heart skip a couple of beats.

RH:  Do you have any other jobs or work in any other industry

M: I've been a homeschool mom for 12 years.  I have plans...
