Today's Dealer Spotlight is about Dan Dupler, who is not only a dealer, but an employee at The Rock House. He deals in American Antiques under the name Yellow Dog Antiques.
He loves to tinker in his shop and build things out of recycled wood or antique pieces. Some of the pieces you find in his booth are pieces he has repurposed out of things he has found out and about. His wife is a quilter and you can find some of her hand sewn quilts in the booth as well.
An interview with Dan:
RH: What type of Antiques do you specialize in?
D: Primitive Antiques
RH: how long have you been in the antique business and what made you get started in it?
D: I've been collecting for 36 years and needed something to do after retirement.
RH: What is the one piece you have purchased that you treasure the most (that you sold or kept)?
D: A reversed painted glass F.W. Woolworth entrance transom sign.
RH: If you could have any antique piece, from anywhere in the world, despite cost, what would it be?
D: I would buy an original Wyeth oil.
RH: Do you work in any other industry, or have any further jobs?
D: Build part tables, cabinets, and book cases.
We love having Dan as a part of The Rock House Family! We would be lost without his humor, knowledge and willingness to always lend a helping hand.
